One of the best features of the My Study Series learning platform is the automated quizzing.

On every video page (except for standard introductions) students are presented with an automated quiz consisting of anywhere from 5-8 questions based on the content they have just watched. This is a critical part of the learning process and allows us to check student understanding. It is all well and good to have targeted video content, but if we don’t know whether students are digesting the content, then it is all a bit pointless!

The automated quizzing provides data for both the student and the teacher. The student receives knowledge of results (pass or fail) immediately upon completion of the quiz. They also receive knowledge of performance through a summary of questions informing which of their answers were correct or incorrect. Teachers are provided information around the score each student received via ProPanel. This data can be downloaded into a spreadsheet with data for the entire class. More information about how to use ProPanel can be found here.

Important quiz information for students and teachers:

  • The pass rate for each quiz is set at 70%.
  • Quizzes can only be repeated once. At this point the only implication for this is your My Study Series result data will show you as not having passed the quiz. However, you are still able to complete the course.
  • Because this data is valuable for teacher planning, it’s important that students do their best to achieve the 70% for each course. The notes function can really help with this. To learn more about the notes function, check out this post.
